The Position: Safety Engineer

Summary

As a Safety Engineer, you'll play a vital role in safeguarding our operations and ensuring the well-being of our delivery partners, restaurant staff, and customers. You'll work collaboratively with various teams to identify potential hazards, develop and implement safety protocols, and continuously improve our safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct risk assessments to identify potential safety hazards across Zomato's operations, including food delivery, restaurant kitchens, and our workplace environment.
• Develop and implement comprehensive safety programs and procedures to mitigate identified risks.
• Work collaboratively with various departments, including delivery partners, restaurants, and internal teams, to ensure adherence to safety protocols.
• Investigate safety incidents, analyze root causes, and recommend corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
• Stay updated on the latest safety regulations and best practices and recommend their implementation within Zomato.
• Conduct safety training sessions for delivery partners, restaurant staff, and Zomato employees.
• Monitor safety performance metrics and report on progress towards safety goals.
• Continuously identify areas for improvement and implement innovative solutions to enhance Zomato's overall safety culture.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Safety Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a safety engineering role (freshers will also be considered for exceptional candidates with a strong academic background).
• Strong understanding of safety principles and best practices.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams.
• Proactive and detail-oriented approach with a commitment to continuous improvement.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
